Terminator Salvation DVD & Blu-Ray Hitting stores Dec 1
Friday, September 11th, 2009Warner Brothers has pushed back the date of the DVD release for TERMINATOR SALVATION to Dec. 1st. Here’s the flier that they’re sending out to the media on it:

Warner Home Video has released some limited details about the release of Terminator Salvation on DVD and Blu-ray which is set to hit retailers on December 1. There will be two versions released, the single-disc DVD and the two-disc Blu-ray.
The single-disc DVD will include the theatrical cut of the film along with the featurette about those motorcycle terminators (the moto-terminators) from the film. The Blu-ray edition will feature both, the theatrical cut and the directors cut (which adds a whopping three minutes to the film) of Terminator Salvation, along with a digital copy. It will also include the featurettes “Re-forging the Future” and “The Moto-Terminators”, a “Resist or be Terminated” video archive, the Terminator Salvation Official Movie Prequel Digital Comic Issue #1, a WB Maximum Movie Mode hosted by director McG, and focus points.

Wednesday, May 27th, 2009Terminator Salvation brings in $67.2 Million for Memorial Day Weekend
Tuesday, May 26th, 2009
You have to love it when a film brings in $67.2 million dollars from Thurs-Monday on Memorial Day and that’s considered a flop opening. I’ve come to a singular conclusion, it’s not the film, it’s not the franchise…it’s all about timing. Warner Brothers made a strategical error with rebooting a franchise about the end of humanity during what has to be the most trying economic times since The Great Depression. This weekend Yahoo posted a story about people today living like survivalists – stocking up on water, buying generators, growing and canning their own food in the wake of earthquakes and fear of getting laid off. These worried people aren’t looking to watching films or TV shows about humans struggling to survive in hard times because they’re already living it. Even the power of Bale wasn’t enough to drive real fear out of the minds of Americans. I personally can’t blame them – I’m in the same leaky boat.
So TERMINATOR SALVATION lost to a brainless Ben Stiller comedy in the box office war. TSCC got stomped on last fall by has-been dancing stars, and this franchise might be dead in the water. I haven’t managed to see SALVATION yet, it’s on my “to see” list. If you haven’t gone, go see it and support the franchise. Reminder we’re giving away a TSalvation book pack – click HERE to enter!
TSCC Season 2 DVD’s will be available September 15, 2009. You can pre-order them on Amazon.com.
Opening day: ‘Terminator’ grosses $13.37M Thursday on way to 5-day earnings of more than $70M
Friday, May 22nd, 2009
“Terminator: Salvation” looks like it’s heading toward a five-day gross between $70 million and $80 million after opening Thursday to $13.37 million.
That’s a bit more than half of what “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” opened to on the same date last year. Also the fourth film in a beloved action-adventure series, it went on to sell $152 million worth of tickets by the following Monday.
Given its sizable budget of around $200 million, funded by independent production venture The Halcyon Co., which bought the underlying rights two years ago, “Salvation” will have to play well for a few weeks domestically and do solid business overseas to end up a success. Sony Pictures launches the film internationally in two weeks.
“Terminator” gets competition today in the U.S. and Canada in the form of Fox’s “Night at the Museum: Battle for the Smithsonian.” But since that movie appeals primarily to family audiences, it shouldn’t impact the male-targeted “Salvation.” Although Fox is conservatively predicting an opening weekend of less than $60 million, other people with access to pre-release tracking say it should earn about as much in four days as “Terminator” is on track to gross in five.
