TSCC NEWS ROUND UP

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES News for Tuesday (Old News, Meet the New News Edition)

STOP JUDGEMENT DAY, SAVE SARAH CONNOR (and John and Cameron and Funny Derek and Pretty Kyle and Young Savannah and John Henry and Creepy Catherine and Agent Ellison with the fine, fine voice but not you, Evil Jesse!).

First, vote TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES in E!Online’s “Save One Show Game-Changer Round”.

Kristen is mixing up her annual “Save One Show” poll this year by taking the top five shows and putting them in a final vote-off between now and Wednesday. So don’t delay “Chroniclers” – go forth and vote TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES.

Once you’ve voted at E!Online, why don’t you drop by Zap2It and vote for TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES in their “2009 TV shows on the bubble for renewal: Keep ‘em or kill ‘em?” poll.

And once you’re done there, check out Twitter, where @SaveTerminator has located some of Cromartie’s old homework assignments. Students are encouraged to do the extra credit exercises.

And now that we’ve got that out of the way…

Sarah Connor portrayer and TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE enthusiast LENA HEADEY appeared on Brunch with Bridget this weekend in a 25-minute interview that was charming, silly and hysterically funny by turns (three things Sarah Connor is almost never allowed to be BTW, which I suppose is why they call it “acting” and not “showing up in costume and being yourself”).

Click here to watch the video on AfterEllen.com.

Speaking of massacres, TSCC make-up guru ROB HALL’s TSCC cast-laden slasher flick, LAID TO REST arrived on DVD last week.

ShockTilYouDrop says “see the movie. It is a fun and thrilling horror flick that will keep you entertained and might even make you a bit squeamish. What true horror fan can turn that down?”

DreadCentral calls LAID TO REST “a movie that is a masterpiece of mayhem and carnage. It’s wall-to-wall blood, grue, and good times” (the site also has an interview with director Hall).

For their part, Bloody Disgusting gives LAID TO REST a 9/10 and while Fangoria was less impressed with the film overall, they still found “little frissons of pleasure to be had in addition to some nice performances, superlative FX and memorable murders.”

As for me, I’ll be hiding under my bed with a softball bat, ta.

From LiveJournal’s fast and furious gossip comm, ohnotheydidnt: many, many, many pictures of SUMMER GLAU (and one or two others) from her appearance at the Starfury T1 convention this past weekend.

BroadwayWorld, “Broadway’s Premier Web Resource” (or so they tell me)  has details about GARRET DILLAHUNT’s upcoming off-Broadway run in “The Things of Dry Hours”.

WorthPlaying.com reports that TSCC composer BEAR McCREARY ”has signed on to score Capcom’s highly-anticipated third-person action game, Dark Void.”

And the busy bees at IGN have already come out with what I think is the first review of TSCC’s now-complete second season. The short version?

They liked it.

In TERMINATOR film news, Wired took a look “Inside TERMINATOR SALVATION’s Bleak World” with director McG,  while John Connor v.5.0, CHRISTIAN BALE, chatted with TOTAL FILM for their TS cover story – see ohnotheydidnt for scans of the article.

Dark Horizons reports that SAM WORTHINGTON, soon to be seen in both TS and Jim Cameron’s upcoming AVATAR, has begun filming the CLASH OF THE TITANS remake and, seriously, guys – wasn’t one CLASH OF THE TITANS enough?

Finally, if you’re listening, FOX BROADCASTING (and WARNER BROS), I’m sure you already know that TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CHRONICLES was one of the Top 10 Playstation Network downloads for 2009-to-date.

But you might not be familiar with Hugo-nominated author Justine Larbalestier, who calls TSCC a “most excellent show” and hopes that you’ll renew TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES for a third season.

As do we all.

Until next time… THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE? Seriously?

TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES – St. Patrick’s Day Edition (aka …to be continued until Friday to find out what’s in the box edition)

It’s time to move again. John and Sarah are packing up. John and Sarah learned Riley was dead. Sarah finds Cameron’s spare part supply. Jesse is on the Jimmy Carter. The Jimmy Carter’s mission is to retreieve a box of secrets from a Skynet controlled oil rig and we learned what hooroo means. Cameron and Catherine “Creepy” Weaver were both… creepy. And lest I forget, John Henry learns to play hide-n-seek with Savahnna. All in all, Friday’s episode was awesome!

If you can’t wait till Friday, head on over to the Production Blog and check out the sneak peek they posted this afternoon for part 2.

Looks like the bloggers have been very, very busy this weekend writing up their reviews of “Today is the Day” pt. one. Let’s see what they have to say:

Den of Geek has a few things to say including that TSCC is the stand-out show of the season:

“The last few stories have taken “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” into a dark and brooding place. Propelling the narrative and characters towards something catastrophic where not all of them will survive.”

“Where season one hinted at a darker future, season two is now delivering handsomely. The plots they’re now running don’t have a happy outcome. It’s going to be degrees of loss all around”

” … this is the stand-out show of this season, and it’s not over yet!”

I can’t disagree with their last statement! (… and Mr. Geek, I scream at my TV too!)

TVoholic enjoyed the episode and Cameron’s little exchange with the bird:

“All in all a very good episode, and setting up lots of exciting things to come. I can’t wait for next week, which will hopefully live up to the high expectations we’ve got from this one!
And just because it was such a cool line, here it is: ‘Goodbye bird. There was a 51% chance I wouldn’t have killed you.’”

I’m not the only one who thinks that Catherine “Creepy” Weaver is creepy. So does Clique Clack:

“It was nice to see Weaver again, wasn’t it? I hadn’t realized how much I missed the creepy red-headed terminator. She seemed almost giddy over the progress of John Henry.”

A little too giddy I think. Creepy.

TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES News for a Wednesday (Two More Days to Another New Episode Edition)

Now that we’ve all had a chance to watch “Ourselves Alone” it is time to gather up all the news and reviews surrounding the episode.

I really enjoyed this episode.  How about that lovely cat fight at the end of the episode.  I must admit, I was sad to see Riley go.  I liked Riley even if she was working for Evil!Jesse.  I’ll miss all her “spooky ninja” antics but at least she went out in a wonderful blaze of glory and almost took that Evil!Jesse with her.  The gracious Leven Rambin has posted a goodbye note over at the production blog, click HERE to read her “goodbye”.  Well done Ms. Rambin and best of luck in your future projects.

On to the reviews:

Den of Geek has this to offer up:

“This was an incredibly tense and tight story that managed to pack a massive amount into the time allocated. I’ve left some less important story parts out, because I was in danger of turning this into the novelised version. But that’s difficult, because almost everything that happens has significance in this show, even if it isn’t immediately apparent why.

If they don’t make a third series, I’ll be massively disappointed, and wonder if there is a future for smartly written TV.”

I’ll be massively disappointed also.

Clique Clack liked the girl fight too:

“The other standout portion of this episode was the epic fight at the end between Jesse and Riley. It was a tense struggle. I figured that one of them was going to wind up dead, and the smart money was on Riley, but the unstable blonde put up quite a fight.”

That she did!

Cinema Blend went as far to say:

“…Terminator: TSCC returned with an absolute vengeance. “Ourselves Alone” was, by far, the best episode of the year; possibly the best hour of the show to date.”

TV Squad says:

“TSCC returned with a solid ep that addressed Riley’s suicide attempt and featured Cameron getting a little twitchy.”

i09 says:

TSCC “…is firing on all cylinders again, with an episode that unravels more secrets of the future, and gives us a major turning point in the Riley-Jesse storyline. ”

At this point I usually refers to the overnight ratings but I’ll refrain from posting that information and refer you to the DVR rating information instead. Why, you ask? Because first, we’ve all read the statistic already and second, according to certain ratings sites, who shall remain nameless, thinks that nobody but “ourselves alone” here at the Sarah Connor Society are watching Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. We simply don’t agree with their summation of the ratings situation. Click HERE or scroll a litttle ways down to Erika’s piece about DVR and time-shifted viewing. And since none of us are Neilsen families, let’s not forget to set our DVR’s and visit Fox.com and watch each new episode within 3 days of the original airing to get counted in the final ratings numbers.

My favorite terminator turned baby Skynet, Garret Dillahunt, has a few movies opening in the next few months and has been making the rounds promoting his films along with TSCC. The first film being “Last House on the Left” will open this Friday, March 13. (Sorry Garret, I’m gonna have to wait a couple of days to watch the movie because I’ll be watching you on TSCC this Friday.)

Ain’t It Cool News talked to Garret about LHOTL:

“Capone: Do you ever get people reaction to you in person where they tell you they’re scared of you a little bit?

GD: It’s funny when they say that. I do, but it’s like, “I’m so nervous to meet you. You’re so nice and soft spoken.” Like you’re going to be an actual psychopath. “We went to an asylum to cast the part of Krug.” I hope the character worked for people, we’ll see. I don’t know if it worked for you, but I hope it did. This story has to have a bad guy, and he better be really bad.”

Movies Online also spoke to Garret about the darkness of his character:

“Q: How do you go about playing such a dark, twisted character without dehumanizing him? As an actor, how do you approach that?

Garret: I guess you can’t think of him as that. I thought he was just a guy who’s had some bad luck in his life and it really makes him angry, the way the world has treated him. He’s just not responding to that bad luck, in a healthy way. He’s not seeking therapy or retraining. He’s blaming everyone else, and he really can’t let it go. He’s physically incapable. It’s everyone else’s fault, and he gets obsessed with punishing them. He’s mete-ing out his own twisted justice.”

SciFi Wire talked to Garret about another film he is appearing in, “The Road”:

“Garret Dillahunt said that he’d be happy to be in any movie associated with Cormac McCarthy, who is easily one of his favorite writers and who authored The Road, the post-apocalyptic thriller that has been adapted into a film in which Dillahunt has a small role.

“No one writes better stories than Cormac McCarthy,” Dillahunt (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) said in an exclusive interview with SCI FI Wire last week. “I think Cormac had just had his son [when he wrote The Road]. He had his son fairly late in life, and there was a fire on the hill, and he was watching it from his back door, and his mind just started to wander.”‘

We’ve also dug up a couple of articles about Shirley Manson.

The Fresno Bee talked to Shirley about her acting during WonderCon a couple of weeks ago:

“I’m 42. I have been in bands since I was 15. There gets to a point where you are stepping out in front of 100,000 people and your blood pressure doesn’t change. I felt like I wanted to do something in my life that scared me. You get to a point in your life where everything is too comfortable,” Manson says during an interview at the comic/TV/movie convention WonderCon.”

You can also check out PopMatters coverage of the interview, HERE.

Our friends at IMAY have let us know about another one Lena Headey’s films premiering in the United States. “The Red Baron” will be premiering this this weekend in Ohio. Click HERE and HERE for all the details.

And finally, for all you fanboys who just can’t get enough of Cameron in her danties, click HERE. The NY Daily News has a photo gallery that includes Cameron’s now infamous underwear appearance from “Some Must Watch…”

Desert Cantos Gains 35% w/ DVR Numbers

Tuesday, March 10th, 2009

DESERT CANTOS GAINS 35% WITH DVR NUMBERS

by Erika Blake

For the second week in a row Terminator killed in the DVR playbacks – gaining a whopping 35% increase which added another 1.475 million to the initial overnights. One thing to remember is that currently industry analysts believe that only 21-24% of households in the US have DVRs and that by 2012 they’re expecting that number to be as high as 41%. So what does that mean for our show now? It means that the most techno-savvy TV watching consumers in the market are using their DVRs and using them often.

A recent report came out saying that SAMSON AND DELILAH showed the largest Fall 2008 premiere for a DVR playback w/ a whopping 70% increase to its ratings. Although our overnights have significantly decreased since the season premiere – we don’t know how it’s doing in the other arenas. Maybe viewership online via Hulu and on FoxonDemand are way up. TSCC is one of those weird shows where people watch it when they have time and they want to be able to give it their fullest attention. And certainly for many people Friday nights are not when they would prefer to watch it. I know that I can count out several people who I personally know who prefer to stockpile episodes on their DVR and watch them all at once. That certainly doesn’t help w/ our overnights or immediate DVR gains, but it’s showing trends that people watch TV differently than they used to.

Kate Arbit who’s a VP over at Fox posted a comment on a blog post over at MediaPost Publications about TSCC’s current DVR numbers and performance: There are various reasons for people to time-shift, and the action doesn’t make a program any less valuable-in fact it gives ratings a boost. TSCC is a Friday night program, the second least watched night of the week, and if the audience takes the time to playback the program than clearly there is some value to it. As far as fast forwarding goes, several studies have shown that fast forwarding does sometimes result in better recall than live viewing because viewers have to watch the ads, can’t switch the channel, to know when the next segment of the show begins. All this to say time-shifted viewing is not a bad thing it allows veiwers to stay current on their favorite shows at their leisure and practically guarantees the advertiser for its message to be seen across competitive programming.

I think that the biggest proof of this was this last week’s TSCC ratings fiasco. In the weeks leading up to the March 6th premiere of WATCHMEN – WB had been heavily promoting the show during key sci-fi programs including TSCC. And guess what? Fans left home on Friday night to watch the film based on a little known graphic novel and it killed at the box office. Bad news for TSCC overnight ratings, but GREAT news for it’s parent company WB who has already earned back 1/2 of the money that they put out to make the film. TSCC got sacrificed w/ little episode promotion last week, but it didn’t matter, the show viewers helped put revenue directly into the company’s bank who produces the show in the first place.

Fox President Kevin Rielly recently had this to tell The Hollywood Reporterabout the Friday night TSCC/Dollhouse Friday ratings “fiasco,” Advertisers have liked the shows. Both shows are doing well on a c7 basis. It’s too early to rule them out.

I think that WATCHMEN is proof that we’re paying attention to the ads. Also we still manage to get quality ads during TSCC even on Friday nights – that include high end electronics, luxury cars, and quality household items and consumable products.

Will the show get a third season? I don’t know and from the sounds of things – it looks like Fox isn’t ready to throw it under the bus yet. I do know that when the time is right we’ll let you all know what you can do to let Fox know that you really want that third season to be ordered. Until then remember “NO ONE IS EVER SAFE” – you need to do your part to help the show, talk to your friends and family – inform them about the 3 day window for DVR viewings and how they count into the ratings. Watch the episodes again within that 3 day window and then again online – Fox on Demand provides their numbers to the Nielsens, Hulu, the numbers go directly to the heads at Fox Broadcasting. Keep buying the episodes on ITunes and Amazon Unboxed. And most importantly – EVERYWHERE that you post online start talking up the back end of the season – share the cool 4 minute Wondercon coverage and get interest back up with fans. Fate for TSCC might end up being what WE make it to be and this is one war that we want to win.

The Sarah Connor Society Promo, Caps, and Scans Photo Gallery!

Ok so here’s how I’ve spent the majority of my weekend – capping interviews. I loaded over 8,000 caps to this particular gallery, and that doesn’t include the episode screencaps. Deep breath….

First up – thanks to our lovely news reporter Kristina she capped 02×17 OURSELVES ALONE, we have over 1800+ HD caps loaded in our gallery.

Gallery 1 Gallery 2 Zip Download

Onto the Interview sceencaps. Because I loaded so much stuff I further divided up the screencap section of the gallery and for each season there’s a Studio interviews section and a section for interview caps that were taken at events.

In the Season 1 Cast Member Studio Interview Screencaps I haven’t added anything new, however, I did some digging on FoxFlash and found 3 promo photos for when Thomas Dekker on Spike Feresten 2008 and loaded them into his caps galley.

For the Season 1 Cast Member Event Interviews

I capped a lovely IGN interview w/ the 4 principal cast members from 2008 Comic Con – caps are 640×360.  Lena Headey, Richard T Jones, Thomas Dekker, and Summer Glau.

Onto the Season 2 Cast Member Studio Interviews gallery.  I loaded caps of Summer and Thomas Talk to Buddy TV, Brian Austin Green on The Bonnie Hunt Show, and TSCC Cast Talks to Fox 13 - this video has caps of Leven & Garret together, Summer & Thomas together, Brian Austin Green, Shirley Manson, and Richard T. Jones. I have 2 promo photos from Shirley Manson on Spike Feresten - my video file isn’t complete for this interview, when I get a better copy I’ll cap it for you all.

Finally we have the gallery w/ the largest influx of new screencaps – the Season 2 Event Cast Member Interviews gallery.

First up – New Multiple Cast Members Interviews: Summer Shirley Josh talk to SidewalkTv Wondercon, Summer and Thomas Fox Summer TCAs interview, Summer Thomas UGO Comic Con 08, Summer and Thomas IGN Comic Con 08, and Summer Glau Brian at Teen Choice Awards Fox Source.

I don’t have gobs of new interviews w/ Summer to post – however, I do have glorious 1280×720 caps of Summer from her WonderCon 09 IGN interview loaded – so sometimes, quality over quantity rules!

Thomas Talks to Spike TCA Party. (I’m working on more Thomas interviews…there’s only so much a single person can do in one sitting, you know?)

I loaded several of new Brian Austin Green interview caps: Comic Con UGO, Talking about his Tenessee Connections, and Fox Winter TCA TV Guide interview.

Shirley Manson fans will be excited about these lovely new caps that I loaded – Comic Con Fox Source, IGN Comic Con 08, and again 1280×720 HD quality caps from her Wondercon 09 IGN inteview.

Garret Dillahunt – I capped several of Garret’s interviews from the past season. They include IGN Comic Con 08, Comic Con Fox Source, and Fox Eco-Casino Party Fox Source.

Richard T. Jones – We have caps from these interviews of him: Comic Con Fox Source, Fox Eco-Casino Party, and Fox Winter TCA Fox Source.

Leven Rambin – Feeling now a little nostalgic about Riley, I realized that I hadn’t gotten around to capping any interviews w/ Leven so I added several to the gallery. Cool thing w/ Leven since she attends lots of events – there were interviews of her from different venues: Fox Eco-Casino Party, TV Guide Fox Winter TCAs, RealTV Sundance Film Festival Interview 0109, and Talks to Rocco w/ Fashion Show about TSCC 09/08.

Finally in the Season 2 Behind the Scenes Specials section of the gallery I loaded Summer Glau & Eliza Dushku Outtakes Fridays Promo screecaps.

And caps from Leven’s earlier season goofy videos: Leven Rambin Wants You to Watch TSCC and Leven Rambin talks Season 2 – Tale of 2 Levens.

Blahhhh….. please peruse, pick out ones that are your favorites and rate them to let me know that my hours of effort haven’t been for nothing.

TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES News For Friday (Holy Crap, It’s Been A While… Edition)

It’s Friday again here at the Sarah Connor Society and you know what that means, don’t you?

Well, if you guessed “bad puns and more TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES links that you can chuck a coyote at to get you psyched for tonight’s all-new episode of TSCC” then you’d be right. But before we get started, I want to take a moment to say thank you to the Sarah Connor Society’s kickass co-webmasters Erika and Kate for single (dual?) handedly updating the site over the last two weeks when simultaneous technical failures knocked both Kris (internet connection) and me (computer) offline during the avalanche of interview, videos and pics following Wondercon. Karma guys.

Now, without further ado, courtesy of The Futon Critic, here’s the log line and cast list for tonight’s BRAND NEW episode of TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES:

CAMERON’S DEFECT RESURFACES ON “TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES” FRIDAY, MARCH 6, ON FOX

The return of Cameron’s glitch results in regrettable consequences for everyone, and Riley fears Cameron has discovered her secret in the “Ourselves Alone” episode of TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES airing Friday, March 6 (8:00-9:01 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (SCC-217) (TV-14 D, V)

Cast: Lena Headey as Sarah Connor; Thomas Dekker as John Connor; Summer Glau as Cameron; Brian Austin Green as Derek Reese; Richard T. Jones as James Ellison; Garret Dillahunt as John Henry; Shirley Manson as Catherine Weaver; Leven Rambin as Riley

Guest Cast: Stephanie Jacobsen as Jesse; Mackenzie Smith as Savannah; Gregg Perrie as Aaron; Leslie Thurston as Nurse; Alex Carter as Ko Samuels; Tina Casciani as Working Girl; Alison Martin as Molly Malloy

Check out a clip from the episode here.

For those who need a quick refresher (although if you were thinking about anything other than who Winston was talking to on his cell while Sarah Connor chewed her way out of her handcuff, SHAME ON YOU!), here’s a handful of reviews of “Some Must Watch While Some Must Sleep” to help jog your memory:

IGN takes what could be considered a controversial stance when they say “‘Some Must Watch…’ has, in my eyes, now elevated Lena Headey into the definitive Sarah Connor. She’s had so much more time to add dimension to this character and to portray all of her various levels. I was surprised to hear that she has never killed anyone. You’d think at some point in Central America, she would have had to off some scumbag sniffing around. Nonetheless, it was a compelling choice to follow Sarah as she tries to make peace with what she did.”

Thank You For Explaining considers the similarities between “Some Must Watch…” and the incident from Hamlet that lends the episode its name:

The title comes from Act Three, Scene Two of Shakespeare’s Hamlet, which is a study of that titular character’s decent into madness…. Like Hamlet, this episode of the Sarah Connor Chronicles examines a tortured mind seemingly undone by high crimes against her person and humanity. A drugged Sarah alternates between dream and waking states but cannot distinguish between the two. This impasse is broken at the end, and she (and we) uncover the true reality. Sarah then takes control of her reality, and decisively kills her tormentor for the first and final time.

My homegirl, Sarah Connor Society forum admin, in-house action-figure maker and satirist, RoxyB, got some love from the official blog for her write-up, “The Idiot’s Guide To Sarah’s Transformation“. If you like The Sarah Connor Comicals, you’ll defiinitely like RoxyB’s tongue-firmly-inserted-in-cheek breakdown of Sarah Connor’s mental state over the course of the series.

If you haven’t read it yet, take a minute to enjoy the latest Comical, episode 14, “The Good Wound“.

In cast news, Thomas Dekker spoke to TV Addict about the changes to the ending of his upcoming movie, My Sister’s Keeper, from the novel:

“While the ending may piss fans of the book off. I did finally see a cut of the film a couple of weeks ago and loved it.” revealed Dekker in an exclusive one-on-one with the TV Addict. “I was actually surprised, because you’re treading on territory that could be really “Hallmark-ey” or “Lifetime-ey” and it didn’t feel like that. Nick Cassevetes [the director] has a very dark sensibility about everything and I think that it events it out.”

From Ecorazzi, Dekker on why he’s a vegetarian:

“When I was about eight years old, I stumbled on a pig factory. After seeing what went on there, I immediately gave up all pig products. Then, four years later, I asked myself the obvious question: ‘Why am I not eating pigs, but still eating other animals?’ So at that point I gave it all up.”

I salute Dekker’s choice but this is why I refuse to read Fast Food Nation – ignorance, and the occasional cheeseburger, is bliss.

If you follow the Official TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES Blog, then you know that in addition to acting, writing, directing, and writing and composing his own music, Thomas Dekker is also an amateur photographer. Dekker_Daily has a short interview with their polymath namesake about his photography here.

Laid To Rest, the upcoming slasher film from TSCC’s resident make-up wizard Rob Hall, starring Dekker, Lena Headey and TSCC guest-star Bobbi Sue Luther, looks to be Fangoria’s April cover story.

The issue will also have a Terminator Salvation feature.

Lest you think we’re resting on our laurels, we’ve also got info on the DVD release from MovieWeb and a gallery of pics from ShockTillYouDrop to sate your inner serial killer.

Meanwhile, if you ever wanted to see Lena Headey make out with Daniel Craig, TVShowsOnDVD is reporting that E1 Entertainment will be releasing season one of the late-90s horror anthology The Hunger on DVD June 2nd. Headey and Craig costarred in the episode “Menage a Trois”.

Summer Glau will be guesting as herself on The Big Bang Theory this Monday, March 9th. Glau and Josh Friedman talked to HitFix about the experience:

“They’re very different,” Glau laughed. “I think that I was playing myself, but I was trying to be funny, they tried to make me funny. I was nervous, because it’s supposed to be about how I respond to people who know my work as Cameron, so I was concerned about how people might perceive that. But I was honored to work with such talented actors.”

A FOX star going on CBS to effectively plug her role on said FOX show seems a little unusual, but both “Big Bang Theory” and “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” are Warner Brothers TV productions (and CBS probably wouldn’t figure “T:SCC” is much of a threat to its Friday supremacy).

“Bill Prady and I are friends,” added “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” creator Josh Friedman. “He’d done a couple little shout-outs over the last season, done one or two things. When I talked to him, he said, ‘Do you think Summer would want to play Summer?’ The script was really funny and the idea was really funny. I was at the read-through and I wanted to go when they were actually shooting, but I thought it would be a little weird. I didn’t want to be like the protective parent, the stage dad or something.”

The Sarah Connor Society has clips and promo pics from the episode here and here.

Not satisfied to creep the hell out of me with is performance as John Henry, Garret Dillahunt’s slasher remake, LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT, opens next Friday, March 13th (did we really need two in one year, God?). From JoBlo, we have many pictures of Dillahunt and the cast doing very bad things. BoxOfficeProphets and ShockTillYouDrop interviewed the cast and if that doesn’t leave you sufficiently unnerved, you can always visit the movie’s official site.

To round out news of our metal trio, Iain Shedden, a columnist for online paper, The Australian, is having nightmares about Shirley Manson (Manson, a nightmare? Surely you jest):

What provoked this nightmare was a viewing of the new season of sci-fi television series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, in which Manson, in a consistently threatening tone, plays Catherine Weaver, a company executive with a secret agenda that does not bode well for her employees, or indeed mankind.

For someone with little acting experience Manson, 42, is surprisingly convincing in the role, not least when she … well, let’s just say she’s adaptable.

Speaking of Ms. Manson, she will be hosting a live event in LA on Monday, March 9th, to celebrate the release of U2’s new album, No Line on the Horizon.

In general news, The Playstation Blog announced that TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES second season will be available on PlayStation Network March 10th.

ComicBookResources has one last WonderCon write-up to tide you over until ComicCon.

At WonderCon, Josh Friedman wondered about TSCC’s demographics. Well, Mr. Friedman, according to TorrentFreak, TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES was the 4th most pirated show of 2008 and the 6th most pirated show of the last week. Combined with TSCC’s massive DVR audience, it’s clear that TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES is near and dear to the hearts of gadget lovers and pirates, whether male or female, everywhere.

Finally, Kevin Reilly, President of Fox Entertainment, spoke to The Hollywood Reporter yesterday as part of their annual feature on pilot season. Reilly had this to say when asked about TSCC/Dollhouse on Friday nights:

THR: Can “Terminator” or “Dollhouse” financially make sense as broadcast shows next season if their ratings don’t improve?

Reilly: Advertisers have liked the shows. Both shows are doing well on a c7 basis. It’s too early to rule them out.

The Sarah Connor Society has been pretty vocal about our belief that the current ratings system doesn’t accurately reflect viewership in an era when DVRs and streaming video exponentially increase the audience’s viewing options, not just in terms of when people are watching but where, how and who, from the TIME Magazine columnist who watches TSCC on his iPhone while on the subway to the office flunky (who shall go unnamed *cough*) who likes to rewatch episodes on FOX.com at her desk, more people watch TV without ever turning on a television set than ever before.

But only a fraction of those viewers are counted by the Nielsens.

So if you watch TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES and you’re not a Nielsen viewer, take a moment to write FOX Broadcasting and let them know that you’re watching. You can write care of

Kevin Reilly, President
Entertainment
FOX Broadcasting Company
10201 West Pico Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA 90035

or e-mail @ askfox@fox.com

International viewers can write to Warner Brothers Television, the studio that produces TSCC care of

Peter Roth, President
Warner Brothers Television
4000 Warner Blvd.
Burbank, CA 91522

All it takes if five minutes and a stamp.

Until next time, don’t forget to e-mail your FOX affliate and let them know how much you liked tonight’s episode (http://www.fox.com/links/affiliates.htm) and then join us in the Sarah Connor Society Forums.
