TSCC NEWS ROUND UP

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES News for Tuesday (Old News, Meet the New News Edition)

STOP JUDGEMENT DAY, SAVE SARAH CONNOR (and John and Cameron and Funny Derek and Pretty Kyle and Young Savannah and John Henry and Creepy Catherine and Agent Ellison with the fine, fine voice but not you, Evil Jesse!).

First, vote TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES in E!Online’s “Save One Show Game-Changer Round”.

Kristen is mixing up her annual “Save One Show” poll this year by taking the top five shows and putting them in a final vote-off between now and Wednesday. So don’t delay “Chroniclers” – go forth and vote TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES.

Once you’ve voted at E!Online, why don’t you drop by Zap2It and vote for TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES in their “2009 TV shows on the bubble for renewal: Keep ‘em or kill ‘em?” poll.

And once you’re done there, check out Twitter, where @SaveTerminator has located some of Cromartie’s old homework assignments. Students are encouraged to do the extra credit exercises.

And now that we’ve got that out of the way…

Sarah Connor portrayer and TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE enthusiast LENA HEADEY appeared on Brunch with Bridget this weekend in a 25-minute interview that was charming, silly and hysterically funny by turns (three things Sarah Connor is almost never allowed to be BTW, which I suppose is why they call it “acting” and not “showing up in costume and being yourself”).

Click here to watch the video on AfterEllen.com.

Speaking of massacres, TSCC make-up guru ROB HALL’s TSCC cast-laden slasher flick, LAID TO REST arrived on DVD last week.

ShockTilYouDrop says “see the movie. It is a fun and thrilling horror flick that will keep you entertained and might even make you a bit squeamish. What true horror fan can turn that down?”

DreadCentral calls LAID TO REST “a movie that is a masterpiece of mayhem and carnage. It’s wall-to-wall blood, grue, and good times” (the site also has an interview with director Hall).

For their part, Bloody Disgusting gives LAID TO REST a 9/10 and while Fangoria was less impressed with the film overall, they still found “little frissons of pleasure to be had in addition to some nice performances, superlative FX and memorable murders.”

As for me, I’ll be hiding under my bed with a softball bat, ta.

From LiveJournal’s fast and furious gossip comm, ohnotheydidnt: many, many, many pictures of SUMMER GLAU (and one or two others) from her appearance at the Starfury T1 convention this past weekend.

BroadwayWorld, “Broadway’s Premier Web Resource” (or so they tell me)  has details about GARRET DILLAHUNT’s upcoming off-Broadway run in “The Things of Dry Hours”.

WorthPlaying.com reports that TSCC composer BEAR McCREARY ”has signed on to score Capcom’s highly-anticipated third-person action game, Dark Void.”

And the busy bees at IGN have already come out with what I think is the first review of TSCC’s now-complete second season. The short version?

They liked it.

In TERMINATOR film news, Wired took a look “Inside TERMINATOR SALVATION’s Bleak World” with director McG,  while John Connor v.5.0, CHRISTIAN BALE, chatted with TOTAL FILM for their TS cover story – see ohnotheydidnt for scans of the article.

Dark Horizons reports that SAM WORTHINGTON, soon to be seen in both TS and Jim Cameron’s upcoming AVATAR, has begun filming the CLASH OF THE TITANS remake and, seriously, guys – wasn’t one CLASH OF THE TITANS enough?

Finally, if you’re listening, FOX BROADCASTING (and WARNER BROS), I’m sure you already know that TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CHRONICLES was one of the Top 10 Playstation Network downloads for 2009-to-date.

But you might not be familiar with Hugo-nominated author Justine Larbalestier, who calls TSCC a “most excellent show” and hopes that you’ll renew TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES for a third season.

As do we all.

Until next time… THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE? Seriously?

Gallery Update, Screenshots, Magazine Scans, Event Photos

Monday, December 29th, 2008

We’re still working on getting our gallery mess figured out. Nutshell, the easy way for us to upload massive amounts of files at once is broken as is the user registration feature in the gallery and I have to use a round about way to load large batches of images, which is a pain in the rear. Also my current servers are slow at loading stuff – combine those 2 things together and I’m really not thrilled at the idea of loading photos.

We’re looking into other solutions and will hopefully have the gallery fully straightened out before February. Until then I am slowly working on loading the large batches of files that I’ve been behind on getting loaded.

Here’s what I’ve got for you. HQ’s of Leven, Summer, Shirley, and Garret from the Fox So Fresh Winter 08-09 Photoshoot.

Magazine Scans

Thanks to Lori at IMAY and Dekker_Daily we have scans from the latest copy of FANGORIA that features articles on THE BROKEN and FROM WITHIN. Lori also had some cool scans of Lena from the August Issue of Vanity Fair Italia. She also had a nice scan of a review of THE BROKEN from the UK magazine DEATHRAY.

Star & Co-Star Appearances & Photos -

Fox is gearing up the publicity junket for Brendon Hines (Andy Goode) new show LIE TO ME which will premiere in January on Fox. We have 6 new HQ cast promo photos of him in our gallery and 1 LQ from the pilot episode.

Sonya Walger (Michelle Dixon) was out and about the last couple of months. She was spotted at the Grand Opening Of Pippa Small Jewelry 111908 and attended the Premiere Of Freestyle Releasing’s “Nobel Son”120208.

Dean Winters (Charley Dixon) was celebrating in NY at the 2008 Stockings With Care Celebrity Bartending Night 120408.

Leven Rambin was spotted at Flaunt Magazine’s 10th Anniversary Party And Annual Holiday Toy Drive 121808.

We have 3 new LQ photos of Owain Yeoman (Pilot Cromartie) from one of the latest episodes of The Mentalist.

Cristelle at Summer-Glau.net was kind enough to send me a bunch of lovely photos that I didn’t have in the gallery of Lena and Thomas, but I have to resize them since most are too large to upload. When I get them uploaded I’ll be sure to let you know!

Screencaps

Yep, I’m behind on the TSCC episode screencaps and will be working this week to get them all loaded for you. Thank you for your patience!

I have fully loaded 1261 HD caps for 02×10 STRANGE THINGS HAPPEN AT THE ONE TWO POINT. Caps are thanks to JadeLeopard and Kristina.

Gallery Download

First round of caps from the TV Guide network Infanity special are available in the gallery – these include lots of new cast interview pics!

Terminator Photos

RossBondReturns was kind enough to cap over 200 HD shots from the US trailer for Terminator Salvation. Can I just say that they kick serious ASS?

Final goodies – Kristianna Loken attended the film Doubt LA Screening 11/18/08.

And I have a bunch of photos of Sigourney Weaver from back in November when she attended the Marrakech Film Festival 111408. I’ve still got some to load, now that I think about it.

TSCC News and Review Round-Up

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (The Little Sarah “Gets a Grip” Edition)

So, I’m a little late in getting the review round-up out this week.  My apologies for being unorganized but I’m going have to lay the blame on Winnie-the-Pooh.  Why Winnie, you ask? Let me explain…

I’ve lived in LA for a very long time… longer than some of the actors on TSCC have been alive… so I’ve pretty much seen it all.  But occasionally something passes me by that just makes me say “What the h***?”  That moment was yesterday when Winnie-the-Pooh passed me while driving a motorcycle! I know, it’s really not Winnie’s fault I’m late with the round-up but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to place the blame elsewhere while providing a little humor at the same time.

And now, on to Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles…

Monday’s episode was “Alpine Fields”. It took the unique perspective of telling a story simitaniously in the past, present and future. Sarah meets a kindred soul in a teenage girl, Lauren, who becomes responsible for raising her infant sister after a Terminator targets the baby while  killing Lauren’s parents in the process. Like Sarah, Lauren steps up to the plate and raises her sister while protecting her from Skynet. This baby ultimately becomes vital to the survival of not only Derek but the entire resistance because her blood contains a vital anti-body that cures a nasty germ released by Skynet. If you haven’t watched the episode get your bum in front of the TV or ‘puter and start watching! Sarah Connor Society Forums have been busy reviewing and dissecting the episode HERE.

Now let’s check out what the other blogger’s think about “Alpine Fields”:

i09’s Charlie Jane Anders thinks:

“Last night’s Terminator episode was pretty much pure win. I love the “dysfunctional family trapped in a cabin with a monster outside” thing. It’s always a recipe for goodness. And once again, we saw the show building on the Terminator mythos from the movies without going too far off the reservation…”

Cinema Blend is saying:

“…This episode got back to what this show does best: Interweaving the importance of the present with the importance of the future in the fight against the machines. Although the episode jumped around a great deal, the story line was tight and entertaining. Looking forward to next week and story behind the machine that started it all.”

And in the words of TV Fodder:

“”Alpine Fields” is a great example of what “T:SCC” has done best this season: deliver solid, self-contained episodes that feed into the show’s main arc. Somehow, it’s managed to do so without being a “Terminator of the week” show.”

Mania

The ratings for “Alpine Fields” can be found HERE.

If you noticed, the future scenes took place in a few different locations.  We’ve learned in past episodes that Serrano Point was a strategic location for the resistance.  In this past episode, we’ve learned of another future resistance base, Eagle Rock Bunker. Eagle Rock in the future looks a little worse for the wear but in case your interested, click HERE to check out what Eagle Rock looks like in the present day.

We are fast approaching the winter break (boo hoo!) but did you know that the Canadian fans are going to get to see the return of TSCC before us in the U.S.?  Click HERE for the details. Lucky Canadians!

Buddy TV has “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” up for best show of the year. Click HERE to vote.

Now for some actor news:

Brian Austin Green was in Los Angeles Confidential magazine last month. Click HERE for scans of the article.

Urban Outfitters has a CD for charity that contains and previously unreleased Garbage song. Click HERE for the details.

Discover Magazine has an article about biological warfare and Terminator.  Click HERE for the germ filled details. (EEKS! Where’s my hand sanitizer?)

And for those who were worried about Skynet coming to life for real, Fox News has an article about killer robots passing the flight test at Edwards Air Base.  Click HERE for all the scary robot details.

New TSCC UK DeathRay and Starburst Article Scans

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

Thanks to our good friend MICHAEL, we received some lovely HQ TSCC scans from two of the UK’s largest Sci-Fi magazines!

First up – STARBURST Issue 365 has a nice 5 page interview with Thomas Dekker!

Also DeathRay the UK’s best Sci-Fi magazine features Sarah Connor on the cover of issue 16 along w/ a 6 page article on season 2!

Finally he also sent us a cool ad from the Sunday Metro paper advertising Season 1 on DVD and Season 2 o Virgin 1.

TSCC on the official full season list in the Nov 10 TV Guide

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

Nothing new here- we heard a couple of weeks ago that TSCC got a full season order but it is nice to see it in print in TV Guide especially when they had been one of the loudest voices calling it dead and cancelled before its time. Don’t they know it is very hard to kill a terminator and even harder to kill John Connor when his mother is on duty?

TSCC Season 2 Cover Story & Article in UK Sci-Fi Now Issue 21

Friday, October 31st, 2008

Just in time for the launch of Season 2 in the UK, Summer Glau sports the cover of the current edition of Britain’s premiere genre magazine, Sci-Fi Now, Issue 21.

Fresh off of the new stands, we have the 7 page spread in our gallery big thanks to Michael for the scans!

Magazine Scans & Articles Gallery Update

Monday, October 27th, 2008

So I’ve been cleaning out the magazine area in the gallery. I created a new section where I’ve moved all of the photos that relate to the different photo-shoots that are associated w/ the magazines.  So In case you’re wondering where some of the photos disappeared to they can now be found HERE.

I also moved around the foreign articles and grouped them by country. See where I’ve moved things around HERE. (If you are in another country and have any scans that you’d like to contribute – please email me!)

OK onto the fun scans. Can I mention how HAPPY I am to see Summer and Lena showing up in women magazines? These 2 were made for modeling. I know that Lena’s modeled in the past but I’m happy to see magazines focusing on Summer too! Our ladies are gorgeous they should be all over magazines!

BIG thanks to SCHMACKY for scanning for us the lovely 5 photo spread of Lena that’s in this month’s IN STYLE magazine! (Beyonce is on the cover.) I’m going to try to make a merge image of the 2 part page – my first round scans didn’t work so I have to redo them.

<< Thanks for the heads up from Summer-Glau.net I ran out and bought the November issue of Self Magazine (Mariska Hargitay on cover) and scanned this HQ copy of a lovely new photo/article of Summer!

Cristelle pointed out to me that Getty Images just put up a bunch of new photos of the TSCC cast from the Fox So Fresh shoot this past summer. There are lovely ones of Brian, Summer, Richard, and Lena. I’m going to try to put out feelers to get my hands on them – but it might be a while. If anyone is able to get them and can donate them – I’d much appreciate it!

Speaking of the SO FRESH photo campaign, thanks to Last Beautiful Girl we have 2 gorgeous HQ photos of Summer and Lena from that shoot now in our gallery!

I also just loaded my own HQ scan of Summer from GQ Magazine.

Other scans – I loaded a nice tribute to Sigourney Weaver in the gallery from the Women in Hollywood Nov 2008 issue of Elle, she talks about AVATAR and ALIENS. And finally I loaded an article from the recent Entertainment Weekly that talks to the cast of THE MENTALIST and has a cool cast photo. Owain Yeoman chats about his character and is front and center in the photo (which was annoying for scanning.)
