Summer Glau Scores New TV Roles

44823_men_s_health02_122_43loFirst up – it appears that Summer has been moved from guest to “recurring” star status on “Dollhouse.”  Eliza had to say this about Summer in a recent Press call She said she is enjoying working with Summer Glau, who is “bringing her A-game.” She also hinted that Echo and Glau’s Bennett “have some backstory to fight out.”

This of course is all good and great – granted that “Dollhouse” doesn’t get yanked after an abysmal premiere only bringing in measly 2.6 million viewers. Uh-huh Fox, dropping TSCC so that DH had nothing to pair with it was SUCH a good idea – we can all raise our heads high, TSCC never had rating that were that low. Expect the ratings to sink further after this next week the series is getting yanked for 3 weeks for Baseball playoffs.

In happier news Summer has landed a lead role in a TV movie for Lifetime! (Way to go Summer, Chris Carmack is BEYOND hot!)  THR says:

Lifetime Movie Network is embarking on “Deadly Honeymoon,” greenlighting an original movie starring “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” alumna Summer Glau.

Chris Carmack (“Drop Dead Diva”) and Zoe McLellan (“Dirty Sexy Money”) co-star in the film inspired by the real-life mysterious disappearance of groom George Allen Smith.

“Deadly Honeymoon” follows two young newlyweds, Lindsey (Glau) and Trevor Forrest (Carmack), as they embark on their 10-day honeymoon cruise. But the dream vacation devolves into a night of wild partying, infidelity and strange encounters with a group of Eastern European passengers, and the next morning, Trevor is missing, presumed to have fallen overboard to his death. However, one investigator (McLellan) begins to question if his death really was an accident.

I am really happy for her, and for us :)

I hope that Dollhouse will have better ratings in the future, I like the show the way it is since the middle of the first season.

  2. I totally agree with you that FOX did crap on cancelling TSCC, so that DH had nothing to compete. Just to clarify, I am a absolute fan of TSCC, and always thought that DH was a kind of competitor.

But I think with the presence of the Summer, the “sinking” of DH may be delayed for some time.

    Will see … ;)
